Our Story
WITNESS Foundation’s journey began with a simple conviction: that lasting peace is built from the ground up, through the people closest to the problem. What started as community-level advocacy for migrants’ rights, refugee protection, and climate and human rights concerns grew, over more than a decade, into a national organisation trusted by international donors, government bodies, and grassroots communities alike.
Today, WITNESS Foundation brings together development professionals the majority of them women, many with over 15 years of experience to design and deliver programmes across eight thematic pillars, from safe migration to digital safety. Our approach combines artistic activism, rigorous research, and evidence-based advocacy to turn lived experience into policy change and durable community resilience.

WITNESS Foundation is governed by a seven-member Governing Board chaired by Sheepa Hafiza, providing independent strategic oversight separate from day-to-day management. Finance and Administration are led by salaried Management Team professionals not Board members ensuring a clean separation between governance and operations that protects the integrity of every donor’s investment.
